There’s no denying we’re spoilt for choice when it comes to Australian fashion brands.

From Kendall Jenner in Bec and Bridge to Bella Hadid in Camilla and Marc and Blake Lively in Zimmermann, every day another famous celebrity is choosing to step out in Australian clothing when their wardrobe options are limitless.

Something that’s just further proof that our women’s labels are second to none, and luckily for us, close to home.

Between up-and-coming labels such as Albus Lumen, Anna Quan and Lee Matthews and luxury legacy brands including Oroton, Zimmermann and Christopher Esber, we’ve rounded up the very best of our home-grown Australian talent.

Below—in no particular order—we’ve listed the most popular labels that call Australia home.

Sass & Bide

Worn by the likes of Beyoncé, Sarah Jessica Parker, Madonna and Rihanna, Sass & Bide has been a beloved Australian label since the early 1990s. Founded by Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke, the excessively stylish aesthetic is versatile and wearable season after season. Our favourites? Its luxurious everyday staples. From skirts to shirts, Sass & Bide has you covered.

Manning-Cartell

Manning Cartell was born from sisters Cheryl, Vanessa and Gabrielle Manning, who joined forces to bring their vision of femininity, strength and beauty to life. With a strong commitment to innovation and sustainability, the brand is accredited by Ethical Clothing Australia and is known for both its luxurious ready-to-wear outfits and celebrity status—including the likes of Kylie Jenner and Jennifer Hawkins.

Alice McCall

Debuting in 2004, Alice McCall’s namesake brand has skyrocketed to success since its inception. Her eye for detail and instinct for design has kept her pieces on the cutting edge of feminine style, finding their way to the likes of Priyanka Chopra to Kacey Musgraves. McCall’s signature flirty designs are unmistakably, bosting intricate detailing techniques and unique craftsmanship, you’ll be coveting this label in no time.

Spell Byron Bay

Every boho girl’s dream label, Spell Byron Bay, was founded by sisters Isabella Pennefather and Elizaneth Abegg after a cult following grew around Isabella’s jewellery (which she sold at the local markets, naturally). Known for its slow fashion ethos and floaty dresses, the label has been spotted on everyone from Alessandra Ambrosio to Vanessa Hudgens.

Realisation-Par

You’d be forgiven for thinking cult-label Realisation Par was born in America. But, in actual fact, designers Alexandra Spencer and Teale Talbot started the brand in Melbourne, before it quickly gained a huge international following for its wrap dresses, cute floral prints and the leopard print skirt they can’t keep in stock. With celebrities such as Kaia Gerber, Bella Hadid and Alexa Chung in their corner it’s no wonder stock is always flying off the shelves. An obvious favourite of influencers and supermodels alike, we’re drawn to their form fitting silhouettes and one of a kind fabrics.

Bec-and-bridge

Founded in 2003 by Sydney duo Becky Cooper and Bridget Yorston, Bec and Bridge is now more popular than ever. The label boasts celebrity fans such as Kim Kardashian, Gigi Hadid, Hailey Baldwin, Selena Gomez, Kendall Jenner Em Rata and Kaia Gerber—to name but a few—but we know the brand best for their signature party dresses and stylish tailored silhouettes.

ELLERY

Founded by designer Kym Ellery in 2007 as a side project while she was working as a stylist, ELLERY has since gone on to become one of Australia’s most successful fashion labels. Worn by everyone from Rihanna to Solange Knowles, Cate Blanchett and Elle Fanning, ELLERY now shows on-schedule at Paris Fashion Week – something only two Australian designers had been approved to do before (Collette Dinnigan and Martin Grant). In December 2017, ELLERY announced the decision to also show at Paris Couture Week and split the collection between the two runway shows. You’ll probably best know ELLERY from their standout luxury design and decisive avant-garde aesthetic.

SIR The Label

Directors of SIR Sophie Coote and Nikki Campbell have wowed Australian audiences here and abroad with their quintessential line of seperates, intimates and ready-to-wear. Effortless chic and perinerally stylish, their ultra-feminine silhouettes will have you covered for every occasion. Plus, thanks to the label’s luxurious fabrications and classic shapes, you’ll be gravitating toward their timeless apparel for years to come.

Dion-Lee

Founded in 2009 by the Sydney-based designer of the same name, Dion Lee has long been a staple in every Australian woman’s wardrobe. Now it’s also a staple in the wardrobes of Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Selena Gomez. Sorry Bella, but we wore it first. Best known for his experimental construction combined with traditional tailoring, Dion Lee is a pioneer for contemporary Australian fashion. In Dion we trust.
